Warren Roberts

Position within the company:

Managing Director

What is your role within RMS?

Having been responsible for over 100 Opcenter implementations, I am able to bring that knowledge and experience into play during the pre-sale discussions. So whilst my role today is primarily in business development and winning new business, I am often involved in the initial kick-off sessions as well as user training.

What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position?

I graduated from De-Monfort University way back in 1993 with a Degree in Engineering Technology, specialising in Manufacture and Management. This has naturally provided a solid foundation into the world of Manufacturing and the challenges faced by business.
Myself, along with a now retired mentor, established Resource Management System soon after leaving education, recognising that computer technology had an ever more important role to play in every manufacturing environment.

I was the main implementation Consultant within the business, a role I occupied for over 15 years. As a result, I am able to express an intimate technical understanding of Opcenter APS, as well as tried and tested experience in the field making solutions deliver results.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

My wife, 2 (older) children and our border collie probably occupy most of my spare time, but when I do get time to myself it’s spent playing sport. Mainly the three Triathlon disciplines – swimming, cycling and running but I also enjoy racquet sports as well – squash in winter and tennis in summer. Like many middle-aged men, I am also fascinated by golf but sadly lacking the talent, finesse and patience required to make 18 holes as enjoyable as it should be.

Fun Fact:

I’m a middle-aged snowboarding dude!

Pet Hate:

Waiting for anything – queues, traffic jams and delays send me round the bend

Favourite Food:

It really is a close call between Indian and a good old Sunday Roast.

Antony Gouldsbrough

Antony Gouldsbrough

Antony is part of the furniture here at RMS. Some say Antony knows more about Preactor than he knows about himself…

Position within the company:

Consultant and Software Engineer

What is your role within RMS?

I get involved in every stage of a Preactor implementation, from initial consultancy and collection of requirements through to development, data manipulation, and coding. Also, I help with the on-going support of our Preactor clients.

What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position?

I joined the company in 1995 as a Computer Science graduate and have worked at RMS ever since.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I have three sons and spend as much time with them as I can. When not with them (and sometimes when with them) I can usually be found outdoors either cycling, hiking, or climbing. I love difficult conditions and steep hills.

I’m also passionate about food so what’s left of my spare time is spent cooking or visiting restaurants.

Fun Fact:

During the past 12 months, I have climbed 5 mountains including Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Pen-y-ghent.

Pet Hate:

Traffic – but doesn’t everyone? Hence the obsession with cycling.

Favourite Food:

Anything containing avocados. Or chilli.

Daniel Edge

Daniel Edge

Dan is solely responsible for making sure the chocolate, biscuit and brew supply in the office never runs dry again

Position within the company:

Consultant

What is your role within RMS?

I manage a portfolio of clients through their implementations. This can include determining what their requirements are and if there is any development work is required by our team. Sometimes this involves travelling to client’s site for user training and consultancy work. I also manage the maintenance of the RMS Website and create marketing material for any campaigns or newsletters we run.

What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position?

Before joining RMS, I had spent 3 years in Newcastle at Northumbria University studying for a degree in Business Management. I’ve always been fairly ‘techy and design’ orientated, so the role of Consultant fits well as it allowed me to have a mix of being customer-facing and personable with clients alongside the technical side.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

My lifestyle revolves around my hobby which is bodybuilding and training, so I enjoy going to the gym most evenings and weekends. My other interests are watching The Millers (Rotherham United) with the lads. Any free time I enjoy spending time with my niece and nephew or reading a book! I’m also a huge foodie so like to visit new restaurants and eateries to try out new cuisines and sample the tastiest food I can find – open to any suggestions!

Fun Fact:

I’ve skydived overlooking Las Vegas.

Pet Hate:

Retired people doing their food shops on a Saturday when I’m trying to do mine.

Favourite Food:

Got to be an Indian. Everyone loves a curry.

Mark Maddison

Mark Maddison

Mark is the process king. He has a process for everything to make sure we’re all in line and up to date.

Position within the company:

Software Engineer

What is your role within RMS?

I spend the majority of my time managing the development of our new product Marshal, a new shop floor data collection solution. We have been working hard at RMS to ensure this Marshal will be an outstanding product at a price point I think many will like! If I’m not working on Marshal, then I’m usually delving deep into the more configured systems we manage at RMS, doing either new development work or analysing existing code to so see if we can improve how their Preactor processes.

What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position?

Before joining RMS, I led a team of 5 developers in a fast-moving environment which meant leading the way to always try to improve processes within the department. I have over 20 years of professional experience developing bespoke software and database management which hopefully stands me in great stead to continue developing Marshal SFDC into a cracking bit of software.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I love playing electric guitar. Unfortunately, I’m forced to play acoustic guitar at home…something to do with volume?

Fun Fact:

Venison’s dear, isn’t it?

Pet Hate:

Low winter sun when driving!

Favourite Food:

Got to be Spaghetti Bolognaise…but need a big bib!
